“Come here,” I tell her as I lean in across the table.
“What?” She drops her head to the side.
“Come here,” I say again.
Lydia hesitantly leans in, but nevertheless, she leans in toward my mouth.
“I need you, Lydia,” I whisper in her mouth before I kiss her. She doesn’t move.
